ORACLE VM and IMPORTING prebuilt developer .OVA file.

ORACLE VM and IMPORTING .OVA file. 


1- Register with ORACLE.COM and download Oracle VM VirtualBox from below link depending on your platform, I used Windows (32-bit/64-bit) as my OS is 64 bit.

2- Once downloaded you will get the below file, Double Click and Install it. 

3- After installation - Double click and open the Oracle VM VirtualBox Manager.



4- Once the installation finished, go to the oracle site again and take the latest Prebuilt Developer VM.

and download the OVA (Open Virtualization Format Archive) file 


once downloaded you will get the below OVA file. 

5- Now go ahead and attache the .ova file into Oracle Virtual Box

File > Import Appliance to launch Appliance Import Wizard. 


6- Click on Dir image and choose the .OVA file from your local directory. 



7- Click on NEXT button. 

8- Double click and edit the configuration if you like. 

9- Accept the Software License Agreement. 

10- Now the import stated, It will take few minutes to complete. 

11- Once completed you will get the new VM added to your Oracle VirtualBox. Just hit the START button to start the VM. 


12- It will ask for the Username and Password
OS - 
username - root, oracle
password - oracle, oracle

Oracle-
/ as sysdba
sys as sysdba - oracle
system - oracle
scott - oracle

Those are by default from ORACLE.
